STronicremains the fastest, most efficient box overall as no torque convertor and should be the choice of box for performance models, torque permitting. the only move from S tronic to Tiptronic, that I have seen, is in the Q5. the 3.2 FSI used to be S tronic. the 3.0 TFSI is now Tiptronic.
