My rear windscreen heater has stopped working. The button on the climate control still lights up, but the back windscreen is not clearing. Motor is still under warranty but a real pain to take it in. Has anyone else had this? Could it be a fuse that I can replace myself? Cheers, _____ Depends on failure mode. If the IBS sensor is malfunctioning, the wires disconnected etc, a light in the dash will show up (if I remember correctly, the ABS dashlight lights up, because it is part of safety components). Often, making sure that all wires are tight and secure is enough to fix the issue. This morning after starting, I noticed that the rear window defroster and the AC lamps were blinking, climate control, rear defroster, and steering wheel heater were not working. Drove for about 7-8 minutes to get coffee, shut her down, scraped the ice off the windows, started again with same results. Luckily the seat heater was still working Heat doesnโ€™t get very hot.. Barely warm.. I put a new genuine BMW thermostat into it.. Purged it twice with the hold gas pedal method.. No change.. The driver and passenger temperature dials do seem to work, if I turn them all the way to the left/cold it gets cold as it should, but all the way to the right/hot it gets warmer but not very hot.. Only Glass/Seals work I've done is on OLD Jags (XK-E & XJS). On those, you remove the chrome trim/surround and push the glass out of the rubber seal, replace the seal, push the glass back in, using Urethane sealant, and put trim back on. So I thought what was happening was the window was lowering to low and cocking in the guides so my solution was to machine a stop and bolt it to the regulator a 1/2" above the regulators stop so the glass wouldnt go down quite as far as before and that would fix 2007 BMW 335xi AWD E90.
